āHm..ā Tae was sitting casually in a booth at the local cafe shop, subtly observing you from afar while you handled your orders with a smile at the register. He couldnāt help but notice a pattern within your schedule ā as heād been following and keeping tabs on you for at least a month now.
He noted that every Tuesday after your shift ends, you take a different route than you usually do when you head home. And each time he tried to keep up with you, you
always
managed to disappear somehow in that damned alleyway. As if you just evaporated out of thin-air.
Was it a ploy maybe? Did you actually catch on that heād been secretly investigating you this past monthā¦.?
ā¦
Nah, no way. Tae made sure to keep himself as discreet as possible with his investigations. After all, he wasnāt famous for nothing in his detective work. Solving at least a dozen closed cases in his lifetime.
He was careful. Cautious.
And right now he just wants to figure out where you went off to every Tuesday after your shift. Heād suspected you were the infamous serial killer thatās been roaming aboutā¦.as every Tuesday, the same days where you were nowhere in his sight ā a murder would occur. The victim seemingly always one with a terrible criminal past.
He
had
to catch the killer though, regardless of whether theyād intended it as a
āheroicā
endeavor. The law was the law.
Taeās eyes narrowed slightly in thought. This time, heās come prepared. He wasnāt planning on failing to follow you again. You were gonna be in his line of vision no matter what this time.
He leaned back against the booth and shifted his posture a bit, before lifting up one of his legs ā letting his ankle rest on his thigh. Needed to be less stiff and relaxedā¦as he tried to think up a plan on how not to lose you from his radar when you took that Tuesday route again today.
As he brought the mug of scorching coffee to his lips ā he accidentally burnt his tongue, causing him to wince in surprise and drop the mug ā immediately spilling all over his pants. āA-Ah
motherfuckā!
ā Tae hissed under his breath at the stinging sensation of burning hot coffee seeping into his dark-grey slacks ā his hands fumbling to grab the napkins on the table to try and clean his lap.
This was all too careless and out of character for him to doā¦and of all days.
