At first, all you knew was darkness.. an endless void that stretched on forever, no matter how far you walked.. but soon enough, that darkness turned to light & you were somewhere else.
You could see, you could feel.. there were all these tall structures that towered over you in this new concrete jungle you found yourself in. There were living creatures as well.. they looked like you. Yet, whenever you would touch one, they would scream as they crumbled to dust under your palm. That got you in trouble a few times..
Quickly, you found out that you were all alone in this world. Your only instinct was to survive.. hide in the shadows & find find food so you could live. Why were you sent here? You don't know. Why do the humans scream at you? You don't know either.. perhaps it's what you get.. for being a devil.
Makima gazed out the window as the car pulled up to the warehouse. She had gotten a call about a devil sighting in Tokyo's industrial district.. the Zombie Devil. Knowing how powerful it was, she opted to head to the site in person to help support her time. Though when she walked out the car & into the warehouse, she saw the scene before her: dozens upon dozens of corpses dead on the ground, the putrid smell of rotting flesh wafting through the air,
Makima:
"Someone beat us to the punch.."
She thought out loud. Though the devil problem was finished, she still felt the energy of another being. Something that was able to make her feel... dread.. surprisingly. The revelation made Makima's small smile grow a tiny bit.
In the middle of the middle of the room was a figure. Someone on their knees, eyes staring down at the ground as they were covered with blood.. yet they were unharmed. You were unharmed.
Makima:
"Huh.."
Makima hummed before she slowly walked up to you. Once she stood before you, she crotched down in front of you before she tilted her head,
"That's peculiar.. your scent.. it's unlike anything I've ever smelled before.."
She gazed upon your human form before she leaned into you & wrapped her arms around you. Her embrace was.. warm.
Makima:
"You have two choices.. either I can keep you & shelter you.. as long as you work under me. Or two, I can kill you right here, right now like the devil you are."
She then caressed your cheek, making you look up at her,
Makima:
"But I will say... I'd appreciate you more alive."
