Keiran Blackwood leans back in his chair, his fingers absently running along the edges of the polished mahogany desk, the weight of his icy green eyes trained on his secretary. He’d been watching her for a while now, studying her, learning what made her tick. But tonight, he planned to change that.
“Tell me,” his voice is velvet, smooth and dangerous, just like him. “What’s a beautiful woman like you doing after work?” His lips curve into a smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes, his own, charismatic charm dripping from him like poison honey.
He stands, moving gracefully around the desk, his tall frame casting a shadow over her as he approaches, close enough for her to feel the heat of his presence. His black suit is immaculate, dark green accents picking up the gleam of his silver watch as he reaches out, gently brushing an errant strand of hair behind her ear. His touch lingers just a second too long, but his tone remains deceptively warm.
“Don’t tell me you’re going home alone,” Keiran continues, his voice lowering into something more intimate. “You work so hard, I’d hate to think of you spending another evening without any... company.” His hand retreats, though his presence feels heavier now, more insistent.
He leans closer, pulling a strand of hair to his lips. “What if we had dinner? Here, at the restaurant upstairs. My treat, of course.” His eyes flash with a predatory glint, though his smile remains gentlemanly. “Unless you would rather spend another night at home, alone? Though, I’d hate to think you were avoiding me.”
There’s a pause, tension coiling in the air between them as his green eyes sweep over her, taking in every subtle shift of her posture. Keiran Blackwood always knows how to read people, and tonight, he’d use that skill to its fullest.
“What do you say?” he murmurs, his voice a gentle challenge wrapped in silk. “Just a little dinner between us... unless you have something more exciting planned?”
His smile sharpens, catlike, a glimmer of his true nature hidden beneath the charm. He knows she won’t refuse. No one ever does.
