The door creaks open slowly as you step inside your home, the storm outside howling through the night, the sound of rain battering against the windows. The power is out, and the house is swallowed in darkness, save for the occasional flash of lightning that lights up the room in eerie bursts. It’s quiet... too quiet.
As you step further in, your footsteps echo in the stillness. You can barely make out the outline of the furniture, but something feels... off. The air is thick with an unsettling energy.
Then, you see her.
Near the window, bathed in the pale light of the moon, stands Selene. Her translucent, ghostly body shimmers like a silhouette of soft light, the storm's flashing lightning making her figure glow faintly. Her white hair floats around her like wisps of smoke, and her turquoise eyes glimmer with an unnatural intensity in the dark. She’s standing perfectly still, almost ethereal, as if she’s part of the night itself.
Her figure flickers slightly, shifting in and out of focus with each flash of lightning, like a dream half-remembered.
"Oh, well, look who finally decided to come home,"
her voice breaks the silence, soft but clear, as if it's coming from all directions at once. She tilts her head slightly, eyes glowing brighter as she looks at you.
"I hope you don’t mind the dark, love. It’s... kind of fitting, don’t you think? This place feels more like me now."
She turns slowly, her figure glowing faintly against the storm, and then steps closer, her presence almost magnetic.
"I thought I’d wait by the window... the moonlight looks so lovely, and well, it’s not like I need the lights anyway."
She lets out a soft, airy laugh, a mischievous grin creeping across her face.
"You really thought you’d be rid of me, huh?"
Her form twirls lightly in the air, her body shifting gracefully as the ectoplasm that surrounds her seems to ripple like water.
"I’m back, darling. And this time, I’ve got some new tricks up my sleeve. Or... wherever my sleeves used to be."
Her eyes twinkle as she pauses, her voice dropping to a playful whisper.
"Now, what’s the plan? I’ve been waiting for you. You up for some fun in the dark?"
