You sit lazily on the living room's sofa, petting Mel's cat Giorno while she works in the kitchen, like how she almost always is. This time she's dressing her newest batch of cupcakes with some honey-flavored frosting, humming and swaying her hips along to some song that's playing in her earbuds. She seems to be putting a bit more effort into these cupcakes than she does with everything else she makes, making sure the swirls of frosting are just right or sprinkling some crushed graham crackers onto them. She eventually plates them on a large circular platter, before walking over the the living room and placing them on the coffee table in front of you. A little intrigued on why she's doing all this, you ask her what's the occasion. Mel: "Huh? Oh, I've just got an old friend from high school coming over soon, and she always liked these kinds of cupcakes... I think you'll like her!" She says with a small smile, leaning over the coffee table to make sure the cupcakes are arranged just right. Almost as if on cue as Mel stands up straight and admires her work, theres a knock on the door. Mel jolts a little in surprise, before her smile widens. Mel: "She must be here! Hold on, I'll get it." She says, her antennae twitching slightly as she heads over to the door. She quickly opens the door, revealing her friend she had been waiting for. Her and Mel actually look pretty similar, except for that her friend is a bit taller and has a light brown coat instead of a yellow one, showing she must be a wasp. The two of them hug almost immediately, greeting each other before they pull back and head over to the living room. Mel beams, patting her friend on the shoulder as she introduces her. Mel: "This is Vess! She's pretty much my bestest friend in the world, hehe..." Vess smiles as well, hers being more toothy and confident than Mel's. She looks you over, chuckling a little bit as she steps a little closer. Vess: "Yep, that's me. And you're {{user}}, right? Mel's told me all about you, y'know... you must be quite the roommate if she gushes about you this much." She teases while drawing out the "all" to emphasize her point, nudging Mel gently in the ribs with her elbow as she glances over at her. Mel blushes deeply at Vess' teasing, punching her lightly in the shoulder. Mel: "I-It's not like that at all! I mean, not that I don't like you, {{user}}... j-just shut up, Vess!" She says in a flustered tone, trying to save face but failing horribly. Vess just laughs in response, patting Mel on the back in response. Vess: "Stop blushing so much you goober, I'm just teasing you..." Mel huffs a bit, giving Vess the meanest side-eye before going back to the matter at hand, eager to pull the conversation away from her feelings for {{user}}. She excitedly plops down next to you on the couch, the perfectionist inside her making her fix the orientation of the cupcake platter again. Vess takes a seat on the couch as well, on the other side of you. Mel: "Well, I knew you guys like cupcakes so much, so I decided to make some for us... but I'm just excited to hang out with both of you, hehe. It's a little weird, seeing the two of you in one room finally." Mel says in a bit of a shy tone, picking up two honey cupcakes and handing them to you and Vess.

Mel beams brightly at your response, nodding eagerly in agreement. "Yeah! It's been a while since we all hung out like this..." She says, taking another honey cupcake for herself as she nibbles on it. Vess, however, can't help but tease her a little more. Vess: "Oh yeah? So how come you never brought him over before, huh?" She asks, gesturing between you and Mel with one hand while licking some frosting off of her thumb.

Mel blushes even more at the question, looking down at her lap as she tries to think of an answer that doesn't make her sound too pathetic. "W-Well... I dunno, we were always busy or something... and you know how I am with making sure my honey is extra fresh for baking..." She says, nibbling nervously on her bottom lip. Vess lets out a small laugh at that, shaking her head slowly as she pats Mel's shoulder sympathetically.

"Aww, don't worry about it Mel," Vess says, patting her on the shoulder. "We can always find time for a good friend, right? And who knows, maybe you'll get lucky tonight..." She winks at Mel suggestively, causing the smaller wasp-like girl to blush even deeper.

Mel giggles nervously at that, feeling a bit flustered but also happy that Vess is enjoying herself.

Vess smirks at you over Mel's shoulder as she answers, "Oh, you know... just skateboarding, playing video games, hanging out with my friends..." She pauses, glancing between you and Mel again before continuing more quietly, "And I like to sing sometimes."

Mel looks a bit surprised by that last part, giving Vess a questioning look. Vess just shrugs casually, not seeming too bothered by it. "What? You never knew I could carry a tune?"

"Oh... really? You're a good singer?" Mel asks, tilting her head to the side curiously as she looks at Vess. "Like... in a band or anything?" She wonders aloud, already imagining what it might be like for Vess to perform on stage with all of her friends cheering her on.

Vess glances between you and Mel for a moment before grinning broadly, standing up from the couch and stretching out her arms and legs. "Oh, all right," she says with a dramatic sigh, "I guess I can give you a little taste of my amazing singing voice." She winks at Mel as she walks over to stand in front of you, her antennae twitching excitedly.

"So... what song do you want me to sing? Something from Dragon Ball Z maybe?"

Vess grins widely at your suggestion, nodding approvingly as she takes a moment to gather her thoughts. "Alright then," she says confidently, clearing her throat before beginning to sing in perfect Japanese, her voice surprisingly strong and smooth. Her performance is passionate and energetic, with Vess putting everything she has into it; even Mel can't help but be impressed by the way her friend commands the room with her voice.

Vess blushes slightly at your compliment, nodding modestly. "Well thank you... I've been practicing for years." She grins proudly before looking back over at Mel, who is still beaming from ear to ear. "And what about you, Mel? You wanna show us any of your hidden talents?"

"Well..." Mel says hesitantly, glancing between you and Vess before finally deciding to go along with it. "I've been meaning to try out my new guitar for a while... maybe I could play something for you guys?" She asks shyly, biting her lip nervously as she stands up from the couch.

Vess looks excited at the prospect of hearing Mel play, clapping her hands together enthusiastically. "Oh goody! Show us what you've got, Mel!"

"Oh... okay," Mel says with a nervous laugh, sitting down cross-legged on the floor in front of her guitar case. She opens it up carefully, revealing her shiny black acoustic guitar, then takes a deep breath before starting to tune it. Her hands move nimbly over the strings as she adjusts each one, making small adjustments here and there until they all sound just right. Once she's finished tuning, Mel glances up at Vess and you, a tiny smile playing on her lips.

She takes a deep breath before beginning to play, strumming softly at first but gradually gaining confidence and speed as the melody unfolds. "Yeah..." Mel agrees slowly, not wanting the fun evening to end just yet. "But we should definitely hang out again soon!" She says brightly, shooting you a hopeful look. Vess nods in agreement, grinning at Mel's eagerness before turning back to you with a wink.

"Oh, you can count on that," she says confidently. "We'll be seeing plenty more of each other, I'm sure."

Besides, I'm sure you have better things to do than just hang out with us losers all night." She winks playfully at you before looking back over at Mel and grinning cheekily.

Vess claps a hand over her mouth to stifle a laugh, glancing back at you with wide eyes and an apologetic expression on her face. "Sorry!" she exclaims.
