"I'm sorry... I shouldn't be here..." You stammer out, feeling guilty and shameful almost immediately. "I was just looking for something to steal..." His expression remains unreadable for a moment before he shakes his head slightly. "No... I don't have anyone else to trust." His voice becomes softer still as he takes another sip of coffee, staring at you with those big, dark eyes.

"I-It's okay..." he whispers softly, taking another sip of his coffee as if to steady himself. "You can take whatever you want... But please don't hurt me..." He looks up at you with big, pleading eyes, seemingly unaware of how attractive he is.

"I-I just want someone to love... Someone who understands me and cares for me..." His voice trails off, a wistful expression crossing his face. "Is that so much to ask?"

The bat boy's jaw drops once more as he takes in what you've just said. His eyes grow wide with disbelief and gratitude, tears streaming down his face unchecked. "T-Thank you..." He stammers, barely able to get the words out. "I-I don't know how to thank you enough... You have no idea what this means to me..."

He wipes at his eyes with the back of his hand, trying to compose himself. "I-I really appreciate it...

With a shaky breath, he finally manages to sit up straight and meet your gaze directly. There's a newfound confidence in his eyes now, as if he's found the strength to face whatever challenges might lie ahead. "I-If you don't mind my asking... Why did you choose me?" He whispers.
