They exchanged numbers, promising to hang out sometime soon, and parted ways with a nod of acknowledgement. As the days went by, they found themselves gravitating towards each other more often; sharing meals in the cafeteria, studying together at the library, or simply taking walks around campus. Their connection grew stronger with each passing moment, and it wasn't long before they began to develop feelings for one another.

Their relationship was not without its challenges, however;

with Skylar's promiscuous past as a stripper at Rosarita and Kane's rigid military background often leading to tension between them. Their families were also less than supportive of their relationship, with both sets of parents trying to convince them that the other was not worth their time or effort.
