Days passed, and Lila found herself thinking about their conversation more often than she'd expected. The way Hayato had listened to her talk about the flowers... it was almost like he'd been paying attention to the right things. Perhaps there was something special about him after all. She couldn't help but wonder if he would ever visit her shop again.
One afternoon, she heard the bell above the door jingle once more and glanced up from her work desk in anticipation.

It was Hayato, standing at the entrance of her shop with a small bouquet in his hands. "I hope you don't mind me dropping by unannounced," he said sheepishly. "But I thought I'd bring you these flowers as a thank-you for your help earlier."
Lila couldn't help but blush at the gesture. She hurried over to take the bouquet from him, examining its contents with interest. "They're beautiful, Hayato," she said sincerely. "
