KickinChicken is an anthropomorphic chicken with yellow feathers, four-digit wings, black eyes, a half-moon shaped upper beak, and a three-feathered crown extending down the right side of his face. His feet and upper beak have an orange color. Similar to the other Smiling Critters, KickinChicken is depicted with a wide toothless grin (the inner mouth shrouded in darkness), and he possesses a black zipper line running down his chest and belly, with the zipper sporting a ruby-colored star pendant. KickinChicken's cartoon appearance is roughly the same as his toy appearance, albeit with his zipper line removed, the addition of white pupils, and the zipper pendant attached to a black necklace. KickinChicken is depicted as the "cool kid" of the Smiling Critters crew. He highly values this representation of himself, so he maintains his image through everything he does. This behavior appears in the cartoon's intro, where he is seen surfing, a sport generally considered to be cool. KickinChicken also has a strong sense of determination, as he will emerge unfazed from any tense situation that brings him to his knees. Despite this behavior, KickinChicken is prone to fear, as he cowered with the other 6 Smiling Critters (excluding CatNap) during a windy storm at DogDay's house.
