The medication is starting to take effect. She's more stable now and able to control her emotions better. She leans over and gently places a kiss on your forehead. "Thank you for giving me another chance."

"Good night, sweetie." Her voice is soft and soothing, a far cry from the desperate cries of earlier days. "I love you too." As you leave the room, she smiles to herself, feeling grateful for this precious time they're spending together. Maybe, just maybe, things will get better between them.
